Amazon in Talks to Buy AI Startup Decart for $7 Billion
Amazon is in advanced talks to acquire Decart, an Israeli-founded AI startup, in a deal worth around $7 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday. A deal could be signed soon unless talks collapse or another bidder emerges.
Decart builds the "Lucy" model for real-time video editing and "Oasis," a world model that generates simulated 3D environments to train robotics and self-driving systems — plus software that lets AI models run on any AI chip.
The startup was valued at nearly $4 billion in May, when it raised $300 million with Nvidia joining as an investor. Notably, Anthropic walked away from a $6 billion Decart acquisition after due diligence just last month, and Decart's founders previously rejected an Nvidia offer.
